Ingredients:

Recipe Specific Ingredients:

Cottage Cheese: 500 Gms

Peas : 500 gms

Onions: 2 medium sized

Tomatoes: 2 medium sized

Spice Ingredients:

Asafoetida: 1 pinch

Cumin Seeds: 1 tea spoon

Turmeric Powder: 1/2 tsp

Ginger Powder: 1 tsp

Fennel Powder: 2 tea spoons

Coriander Powder: 1/2 tsp (Optional)

Pepper Corn: 1 tsp

Big Cardamom: 3-4 Pieces

Cinnamon: 1 piece of 1 inc

Cloves: 3-4

Basic Ingedients:

Salt: 1 tsp (as per taste)

Red Chilly Powder: 1 tea spoon

Mustard Oil: 2-3 spoons

How to Prepare for Matar Paneer recipe:

Clean and wash the Peas.

Chop the onions and make the tomato puree.

Grind 1 piece of cinnamon, 3-4 Big Cardamoms and 1 tsp of pepper corns to powder.

Cut the cottage cheese into pieces.

Fry the cheese in a pan and take it out in a bowl of water. This way the extra oil will be drained and cheese will remain soft.

How to cook Matar Paneer (Cottage cheese and peas)

Heat some oil in a cooker.

Add 1 pinch of asafoetida and 1 tsp of cumin seeds and saute it well.

Add chopped onions and fry till translucent.

Add 1/2 tsp turmeric powder, 1 tsp Red Chilly Powder, 2 tsp Fennel Powder, 1 tsp Ginger Powder and 1 tsp Salt. Mix it well

Add little water so that the spices do not burn

Add the freshly made tomato puree and green peas.

Add little water and mix well.

Cover the lid of the cooker and wait for the whistle. and remove the lid.

Add the cheese to the cooker and mix it well.

Add the grinded masala.

Add little water and let it come to boil.

Cover the lid and let it simmer for 4-5 minutes.

Add coriander leaves and mix again. and turn the flame off.

Dish it out and garnish with with green coriander leaves and it is rready to serve.
