Keema or minced meat is quite popular and liked by one and all. It is cooked in various variations. One that is quite popular is minced meat cooked with green peas.

Ingredients:

Recipe Specific Ingredients:

Mince Meat: 500 Gms

Green Peas: 500 Gms

Onions: 2 medium sized

Tomatoes: 4 Medium sized

Ginger Garlic Paste

Spices:

Asafoetida: 1 pinch

Cumin Seeds: 1 tea spoon

Ginger Powder: 1 tsp

Turmeric Powder: 1 tsp

Fennel Powder: 2 tea spoons

Coriander Powder: 1/2 tsp (Optional)

Pepper Corn: 2 tsp

Big Cardamom: 7-8 Pieces

Green Cardamom: 4-5 pieces

Cinnamon: 1 piece of 1 inch length

Bay Leaves: 2

Cloves: 2-3

Basic Ingedients:

Salt: 1 1/2 tsp (as per taste)

Kashmiri Red Chilly Powder: 1 1/2 tsp

Mustard Oil: 3-4 spoons

How to Pepare before cooking:

Prepare some paste of Ginger and garlic.

Grind 5-8 Big cardamoms, 2 stick of Cinnamon and 1 spoons of pepper corns and divide the mixture into two parts.

Prepare the Tomato Puree and also chop the onions.

How to marinate the meat:

Take the minced meat in a bowl.

Add 3-4 tea spoons of ginger garlic paste, one part of grinded mixture, 1/2 tsp ginger powder, 1/2 tsp salt, 1 tea spoon Kashmiri red chilly powder and 1/2 tsp turmeric powder to it. Kashmiri chillies are less bitter, if you are using other chilly powder, I suggest reduce it by half.

Mix all the ingredients well. Cover it and leave it aside for around 2 hours.

How to prepare gravy:

Heat 2 spoons of oil in a pan.

Add chopped onions and 2 tea spoons of ginger garlic paste.

Now add Cumin seeds 1 tsp, 1/2 turmeric powder, 1 tsp chilly powder, 1/2 tsp ginger powder. Sute well.

Add tomato puree. Simmer it for some time till you see oil separating from tomatoes.

How to cook:

Heat 2 spoons of oil in a pan

Add Bay leabes, 1 inch stick of cinnamon, 3-4 big cardamoms, 3-4 green cardamoms, and 2-3 cloves cloves to it.

Now add the minced meat to it. Mix well till meat is little fried. Let the water dry out. Keep stirring.

Next add the green peas and mix well.

Add the tomato gravy we prepared.

Add some water and mix well. You can also add mutton stock if you like.

Close the lid and let it simmer for around 20 minutes, till meat gets tender.

Add the other half of grinded spices cook for 5-10 minutes.

Add the green coriander leaves for garnishing. mix well. T

The Minced meat and Peas are ready. Dish it out and serve hot.
